If you are planning to go to Mielno, you should know that there is a nice alternative route that may be of interest to both local cyclists and tourists. Most people choose to cycle along national road no. 11, but it is worth exploring another way of reaching this seaside town.

We are talking about the dirt path that runs along the Jamno Lake embankment reinforcements. This scenic route, known mainly to anglers, is also ideal for outdoors and nature lovers. It is worth noting that a section of this route is to become part of the Old Railway Trail in the future.

During the trip, you can admire the panorama of Mielno and see the beauty of the fauna and flora of Lake Jamno. Particular attention should be paid to the habitats of various bird species in the area. Please remember that you are just a visitor here. There is currently no cycling infrastructure and you can come across various surprises along the way, for example traces of wildlife activity, such as burrows. Watch out for them while riding. Behave quietly and responsibly.

Although the route is not technically demanding, you will need a bike with wider tyres, such as MTB or gravel.

Useful field tips:
- Entry to the lake embankment reinforcements from the village of Strzeżenice: at the very beginning, head right along the current of the Strzeżenica River.
- Entry to the lake embankment reinforcements from the Mielno side: the surface of the first 200 m is of poor quality (wild boar rooting).
