The Goths’ Trail is named after one of the East Germanic tribes which had a profound impact on the history of Europe. The Goths are mentioned in the records dating back to the first centuries of the Christian era; they are also credited as the founders of early medieval culture. Our destination is the archaeological reserve named “Kamienne Kręgi” (Stone Circles) – a burial site of Goths and another tribe, the Gepids, from the 1 st and 2 nd century, considered to be the largest in this part of Europe. In the reserve, you will see stone circles, burial mounds and funeral pyres. This unique place also attracts the enthusiasts of arcane knowledge, fascinated by the mystical power of the stone circles.

Our trip starts in Lubiatów at Lake Lubiatowskie. From there, head to Wyszebórz. Recent archaeological digs have confirmed that the village used to have two churches – a half-timbered one from the 16 th century and another, much older one dating back to the 13 th century. Neither has survived, however. Still, you can go see the Baroque Revival palace and the 19 th -century park and palace complex. From Wyszebórz, head towards Lake Czaple and Lake Okółko, and then to Wyszewo where you will find a Gothic Revival church from the 19 th century. Leaving Wyszewo, cross the bridge over the Wyszewka river and then the tracks of the narrow-gauge railway from Manowo to Polanów. From Mostowo, follow the Radew river for around 2 km to reach the destination. You can take a break at the rest stop by the “Kamienne Kręgi” archaeological reserve and learn the history of the area and of the Goths from the information boards.
