Lighthouse in Gąski Lighthouse in Gąski

  • Address : ul. Latarników 7, 76-034 Gąski
The lighthouse was built at the turn of 1877 and 1878. Aside from the tower, also a complex of other buildings was erected, including the lighthouse keeper’s house which exists to this day. All the buildings in the complex were entered into the register of historic monuments. The lighthouse in Gąski is one of the tallest in Poland, surpassed only by the lighthouses in Świnoujście and Gdańsk. It is around 50 m high and the top is reached by spiralling stairs. Its light is visible from over 40 kilometres. Originally, the light source was an oil lamp, but in late 1920s it was replaced with an electric lamp. The lighthouse survived World War II intact and resumed work in 1948. It is open to visitors in the summer season from 10 am to 8 pm. You will need to buy tickets.
