Church in Sucha Koszalińska
The church of the Feast of the Cross in Sucha Koszalińska is a Gothic temple built in the 15th and 16th century, with a very characteristic element, rarely seen in places of worship, namely, a chimney. It also has a half-timbered sacristy.
The church itself was built with brick and boulders as a rectangular, single-nave temple. The steeple has a bell named Zuzanna dating back to 1600.
Inside, you can see some preserved historic elements, such as the pulpit from 1729, a sandstone epitaph dated 1728 and funded by one Jacob Adrian von Heydebreck, the main altar from 1648 with the painting of the Resurrection and the Last Supper, as well as statues of saints.
In the Protestant cemetery at the church, there is a preserved tombstone of a Pole named Andrzej Zawal, probably a forced labourer who died in Sucha Koszalińska in 1942.
