Eastern Eco-Park in Kołobrzeg Eastern Eco-Park in Kołobrzeg

Opened by the Kołobrzeg authorities in 1996, the so-called Eastern Eco-Park (Ekopark Wschodni) is a unique place - nearly 380 hectares of peat bogs, separated from the beach by a sand dune with special timber decks on which the bike path runs. The path, which is a part of an EuroVelo cycling trail, has a rest stop and a nature lookout point. The purpose of the Eco-Park is to preserve the flora and fauna of the “Smolne Bagno” (Tar Marsh) peat bog which is home to a number of protected bird species.
