Church of St. Stanisław Kostka Church of St. Stanisław Kostka

  • Address : Kościelna 1, 76-004 Sianów

The church in Sianów dates back to the 14th century. It was then that the nave was built, to which a tower was added at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. However, the main body of the temple was destroyed during the Seven Years' War, in the mid-18th century. An effective attempt was made to rebuild it and in 1793 the construction of the present half-timbered church was completed, on a plan similar to the original assumptions. In the nineteenth century, the interior was rebuilt, the temple also gained bells and organs. In the center, the most noteworthy is the Renaissance altar, which came here from the church in Cieszyn, in the Biesiekierz commune. In recent years, the church has undergone a complete renovation.
