The Red Bridge The Red Bridge

  • Address : 76-010 Polanów

Currently, no trains pass through Polanów, but you can still see the remains of the monumental, steel viaduct over which the railroad connecting Grzmiąca and Korzybie used to run. The bridge over the Grabowa River is 120 m long and was built in 1916, and it served its purpose until 1945. At that time, it was partially dismantled by the Russians, who thus eliminated the railway connection. They also made an unsuccessful attempt to blow up the structure. Currently, the bridge is not accessible, but there is a bicycle trail underneath it. Its name comes from its original color - it used to be painted red, which it is hard to see now.
