One of the main attractions of Karnieszewice is the local arboretum which was founded in the second half of the 19 ^th century. It is one of the oldest such facilities in Pomerania, created to adapt foreign tree species to the local climate, including the mighty colorado douglas fir, chestnut, mahogany or yellow poplar. The arboretum is a great research and education facility, visited by university students and schoolchildren on field trips alike. It is open from April to October.
