Old paper mill in Koszalin - general director’s villa
Before 1945, Batalionów Chłopskich street was named Fabrikstraße (Factory street). The name was related to the nearby large paper mill named “Papierfabrik Köslin”. The paper mill no longer exists, but a number of interesting places related to its history have survived.
One of the more interesting and elegant buildings (entered into the register of historic monuments in 1979) is the villa at number 83, built in the years 1910 to 1915, perhaps as a home for the general manager of the factory. After 1945, it was used by an educational institution. Today, the villa is a well-kept private property.
