Lighthouse in Kołobrzeg
The current lighthouse in Kołobrzeg was built in 1947. Its predecessor, which had been built in 1909, looked completely different and stood in a different location. The old lighthouse was blown up by the German troops during the bloody battle of Kołobrzeg in 1945, because it was a perfect landmark for Allied artillery forces.
The current building is 26 m high which makes it the 10th highest lighthouse in Poland.
