  • Address : ul. Wyspiańskiego, Koszalin
Wyspiańskiego street is a unique corner of Koszalin where you can still see the tenement houses from the turn of the 19th and the 20th century. At the time, the street’s name was Tessmarstrasse. The houses, built for public administration officials, lawyers, doctors, and post office officers, had beautiful façades and had state-of-the-art utilities, such as gas lamps in corridors. The apartments were large, with very high ceilings, double leaf interior doors, pantries and ornamental ceramic stoves. The State Archives in Koszalin have a rich collection of original designs of the buildings in Wyspiańskiego street. The houses are gradually renovated, bringing back the unique, historic atmosphere of the city before World War II, with the house at number 9 being the best example of the success of the renovation programme.
